MONDAY MORNING EXPERT: GLO (GHANA) PREMIER LEAGUE MATCH DAY 17 IN FIGURES

MATCH DAY HIGHLIGHTS

LENCLAY, OBUASI. Referee E.N Biney had to call of the game due to security reasons. AshantiGold and Edubiase who represent the same geographical area on Ghana’s map have not hidden the height to which they intend to take this local rivalry. New Edubiase and AshantiGold officials are blaming each other for the volatile state of security.

BABAYARA, KUMASI. Nathaniel Asamoah (Kotoko) continued with his new found scoring form. This time, Cape Coast based Mysterious Dwarfs were the victims of his well-taken goals. But the revelation of the day was Kotoko’s right full back Yaw Frimpong, whose defensive skills and forward runs, delighted the crowd.

GOLDEN CITY, BEREKUM. In what was an emotionally charged game, to be remembered more for exchange of bad tackles, attacks on referee S. Mordey and time wasting antics of Hearts of Oak players than for the beauty of the game, it was the battle between Hearts of Oak defender Godwin Osei Bonsu and Berekum Arsenals poacher Nana Poku which stole the show.

TAMALA SPORTS STADIUM. It looks like Gargo Mohammed has discovered the alchemy which will bring gold to Tamale. Sumaila Nyanya joined Loius Agyemang and Nathaniel Asamoah in the league of domestic strikers on a riot, as he  grabbed a deserved equalizer against visiting King Faisal.

WA PARK. Visiting Kessben (Medeama) put up a good fight against home sides All Stars. It was a beautiful save of Frank Sarfo Gyamfi’s goal-bound shot by Kessben (Medeama SC) goal keeper Mozart Adjetey in the 48th minute which would be talked about. But Frank Sarfo Gyamfi will have his pound of flesh with a 40 yard screamer to save All Stars from another home defeat.

CARL REINDORF. Emmanuel Clottey came from the bench to score for league leaders Berekum Chelsea. Clottey scored from a well taken free kick, his second free kick goal of the season. Goalkeeper Ernest Sowah however stole the show with some nice saves.
