Kumasi Asante Kotoko have shaken off threats of relegation which faced them as they rode on the backs of Aduana Stars to jump to the third position on the league log in front of a fully packed Babaya Stadium.
AshantiGold striker Yakubu Mohammed’s 45th minute spectacular bicycle kick goal against Real Tamale United was the best taken goal of the day. Goal struck from over 25 yards from Kotoko’s Frank Boateng and Lions’ Godfred Asante deserve honourable mentions.
Match Day 21 will be remembered for the red cards and penalties. Daniel Asamoah (AshantiGold), Sumaila Nyanya (Real Tamale United), Bernard Dong Bortey (Aduana) and Osei Isaac (Medeamma) were all sent off. Hearts of Oak, Liberty Professionals and Berekum Chelsea were all awarded penalties.
