This is true Hearts of Oak started the game with nine players?

Don, it is absolutely true. Mahatma Otoo and Uriah Asante somehow did not join the team bus. They appeared at the main gate of the Robert Mensah ‘Siwdu’ Park 45 minutes to time. The Dwarfs team suspected foul play and refused to let them in early enough for the game.

My guess is that Dwarfs gate officials played into the hands of Hearts of Oak. For mindgames purposes Hearts may have decided to start with 9 men, get Dwarfs in a complacent mood and then take them unawares. The rules of the game allows a team to start with 7 men.

What Hearts did not realise is that Dwarfs have some of the best defense in Ghana today and the Hearts team which hardly scores was no match for those defenders and especially the Dwarfs goalie Foli Adade.
